21 New Health Mediators Trained in 2014
Graduation ceremony for 21 newly trained Health mediators took place on 10 March 2014 in Medical University - Sofia. The training was organised by Faculty of Public Health (Medical University-Sofia) and National Network of Health Mediators within the project “Together for Better Health” with financial support of healtcare company GlaxoSmithKline.

   Graduation ceremony for 21 newly trained Health mediators took place on 10 March 2014 in Medical University - Sofia. The training was organised by Faculty of Public Health (Medical University-Sofia) and National Network of Health Mediators within the project “Together for Better Health” with financial support of healtcare company GlaxoSmithKline.

   Eight municipalities financed the training of 9 Health mediators who will be appointed to work right after the ceremony. The other 12 Health mediators will work within the project “Together for Better Health” to the end of 2014. After that they will be appointed to work in Municipalities too.

   During the ceremony 21 health mediators received certificates. The certificates were handed personally by Prof. Ivaylo Tournev - founder of the Health mediators program in Bulgaria and Prof. Veselin Borisov - professor at the Faculty of Public Health in Medical University-Sofia.

   In an intensive 14-days training program were included lecture hours with valuable information about:

-  legislation and healthcare system in Bulgaria;

-  the rights and obligations of patients;

-  prevention and treatment of major deseases;

-  role and specificity of the Health mediators.
